History of Sanwa Kako
Oct 1965: Company established independently to pioneer the manufacture of polyethylene foam in Japan.
1966: Developed and applied for a patent for a two-step foaming process, called SUNPELCA.
1973: Registered first patent for the two-step foaming process in UK.
May 1974: Ishioka plant near Tokyo opened.
1980: OPCELL, a polyethylene open cell foam invented, a world first.
1982: NEWPELCA, a conductive polyethylene foam developed.
April 1982: Ikuno plant opened in Hyogo.
1983: POLYMOCK invented, using recycled foam chips.
1984: Patents granted on OPCELL in USA.
September 1985: Established first production joint venture in Jiangsu Province, China.
Oct 1988: Fukui plant opened.
Dec 1996: Norio Yoshida succeeded his father as president. 
June 1999: Granted ISO 9002 certification.
Feb 2001: Granted ISO 9001 certification.
2002: Began sales of OPSEALER, a semi-open cell foam made from synthetic rubber.
Sept 2003: Granted ISO 14001 certification.
Sept 2003: Began sales of closed cell and open cell CR (Chloreprene-Rubber) Sponge.
Dec 2004: New facility for R&D completed.
July 2005: New facility to manufacture RUBAPELCA completed within Fukui Plant.
