Who we are
Our goal is to strengthen our brand position as the Number One maker of polyethylene block foam materials worldwide.
At Sanwa Kako we have been dedicated to the design and manufacture of block foam since 1965, the date of our establishment.
In 2005, we celebrated our 40th anniversary. We have remained throughout a family-owned business.
In 2006, we reached a landmark ¥4bn sales (or about US$40mil).
Thanks to our commanding domestic market position, we are the largest producer of polyethylene block foam in the world.
We have developed a number of unique manufacturing processes since 1966. We awarded our first overseas license to a US company in 1969, and our first European license to a Dutch company in 1976. We have since sold licenses to companies in the Netherlands, Germany, China, Taiwan, Korea and, most recently, India.
Our licensees are protected by patents - 32 in Japan, 4 in the US, and several in European countries and China. From 1985 we began moving production offshore to China. As the world's factory, China also offers expanding opportunities for us.
For the future, we will increase our sales and manufacturing in China, enhance our global position through licensing and distribution, and expand the ratio of rubber-based foam products in our sales mix by capitalizing on our exceptional manufacturing know-how.
Our desire now is to become well-known internationally for our exceptional foam products.
